The text in this piece is one I have used before, and means “It is not your duty to complete the work. But neither are you at liberty to neglect it.” It’s from Pirkei Avot 2:16 (which is part of the Mishna, the Jewish oral law). In this case, I paired the text with wheat, thinking about farming, feeding people, and the cycles of the year.
