I designed this polymer plate for a collaboration with Noam Sienna earlier this year. The text, which was selected and typeset by Noam, is an excerpt from the Babylonian Talmud that discusses the meaning of various natural images seen in dreams; the sentence highlighted at the top refers to elephants, which symbolize that the dreamer “will have wonders done for them.” My design was inspired by a medieval Ashkenazi manuscript (the “Dresden Mahzor”).
